Mary Poppins signs multi millionaire deal with Bernie Ecclestone’s FOM

Around 25 days left till the end of the year and F1 world is already focused on 2012. Which comes as no surprise, since the turn of the year for them was at least three months ago. At the beginning it was all about new rules together with new car updates. Then rumours and the mighty new venues ahead came in dribs and drabs. And now, with the Christmas lights, speculation and incertitude are back… together with the signings and teams movements.

Mary Poppins new FOM Executive Manager

The Formula 1 storm, the one on top of team principals’ tables and on driver managers’ phones, doesn’t seem to have an end and the calm will only come at the first Grand Prix of the season, Australia. Top drivers have their seats secured, true but apart from them the rest have to struggle with the instability. And when I say “the rest” I mean… all of them, from drivers to mechanics, and many other unknown faces working at the circus.

Probably one of the biggest stories after the season finale in Brazil has been that Lotus F1 Team (soon ex Lotus Renault GP) singed up Kimi Raikkonen when team’s reserve drivers line up was full enough already. We could ask now if teams are going for mature drivers – since the age average on the grid is rising – instead of young ones, because they believe that in order to achieve victories in Formula 1 at the moment you need more a experienced driver to help the team out with car’s develop than a rookie …even though he could be a future champion you never know when his time will arrive.

Well… but that would be another story. The speculation state, lack of news and predictions based on nothing, portrayed in the media is so boring, I’m sick of it now. And yes, I can’t wait for the 2012 season to start for us as fans and journalists but I believe this isn’t the way to keep the expectation. It would be very easy to produce a flow of contents to keep the interest of the audience up. In this way we would avoid the whole incertitude situation!!! It isn’t difficult at all, just do like Mary Poppins does: “For a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, the medicine go down…Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, in a most delightful way”.
